Sugar

Our body does not need it and studies have shown that it accelerates wrinkling and sagging of skin. Excess sugar also leads to bloating and increased fat retention and problems with conception due to ovulation toxicity and poorly moving sperm (decreased motility).  Avoid sodas, flavored dairy (yogurt), breakfast sweets. Limit your sugar intake and make sure you only consume the non processed types.

Anything from a can

Cans are lined with Bisphenol-A (BPA) – which is linked to infertility, weight gain and cancer. Furthermore most canned foods are very high in sodium which can lead to high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, kidney damage, stomach cancer and erectile dysfunction and accelerate visible aging. Avoid anything canned especially popular canned soups, chili & canned vegetables. Instead get them from a jar and make sure they are truly low in sodium.

Sugar free anything

Artificial sugars are much worse than the real thing. These fake sugars are bad for your liver, they are directly toxic, the same way alcohol is. Plus evidence shows that consumption of sugar free items actually lead to weight gain, poor insulin response and elevated blood sugar. So it’s actually horrible for diabetics. Sugar free often leads to the muffin top  (evidence of a poorly performing liver) or the “liver belt” as we Toxicologists refer to this condition. If you need something sweet always go with a natural plant-based, unprocessed sugar – try agave, coconut or date sugars.

Margarine, Lard, Shortening

These fully or partially hydrogenated oils/fats are common trans fats. There is absolutely no permissible level that is healthy. And I mean zero! The World Health Organization declared this due to the chronic inflammation that is caused when you eat it, heart disease, along with accelerated skin aging (wrinkling, breakdown and drooping). If you must organic butter is your best bet.

Processed meats (bacon, sausage and cold cuts)

Almost all of these are preserved with toxic nitrates and nitrites, which leads to excess inflammation and oxidative stress (cellular and genetic level damage) accelerating wrinkle formation. Lower your risk with nitrate free bacon.
